How We Choose Our Materials?
You have probably seen words like sustainable and low impact everywhere. They get used a lot, and often without much clarity behind them. At Losano, we focus less on labels and more on how a fabric is actually made, how it wears over time, and what it is made from.
Here is what matters to us when we choose our materials.
Low Impact Materials
For us, low impact starts at the material level. We prioritize fabrics that reduce strain on natural resources, whether that means giving existing materials a second life or sourcing natural fibers responsibly.
That can look like using recycled synthetics made from pre existing waste, or choosing plant based fibers that are harvested with care for ecosystems and biodiversity. The goal is simple. Better materials in, less impact out.
Ethically Made
How a fabric is made matters just as much as what it is made from.
We work only with partners who meet strict standards for worker safety, fair wages, and responsible production. That means no forced or child labor, safer chemical practices, and accountability throughout the supply chain.
Some of our products are sewn locally in Los Angeles. Others are made with long standing international partners who share our expectations around ethics and quality. If a factory does not meet those standards, we do not move forward.
Safe for Your Skin
The fabrics you wear should be held to a higher standard.
We avoid harmful chemical finishes and additives, including BPA and PFAS, and prioritize certified materials whenever possible. Every fabric in our collection is selected with skin contact in mind, because comfort is not just about softness. It is also about what is not in the fabric.
Safety should be expected, not treated as a premium feature.
Performance that Lasts
We believe good materials should perform well and hold up over time.
For activewear, that means supportive stretch, reliable recovery, and construction that stays in place through movement and repeat wear.
For loungewear and everyday styles, performance shows up as softness that lasts, fabrics that keep their shape, and breathability that feels comfortable throughout the day.
Across everything we make, durability matters. Pieces should look good longer, wear better over time, and earn their place in your closet.
